God Of War III May Be Familiar, But It's The Refinements That Make It The Best In The Franchise.
God Of War III is being criticised for being too familiar to its predecessors, but it’s a line of critique I feel intrigued to counter. Playing God Of War III, I couldn’t help but notice the ways in which Sony Santa Monica took something familiar and made it better. On a surface-level, the tweaks aren’t particularly apparent, but there are so many things tweaked to improve the experience. From the combat to the controls, God Of War III simply “feels” better, and while that’s an ambiguous statement, allow me the opportunity to justify…

Naughty Bear is a game that should be on everyone’s radar. This Aliens parody trailer continues to confirm that point. We don’t know what to expect from Naughty Bear’s gameplay yet, but the package just looks so different, and so ridiculous that it can’t be bad, right?
Right?

If you like 2D fighting games then you should probably be stoked right about now: Aksys has confirmed that the follow-up to BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, will get a US release this year.
The game’s not a full update, but includes three new characters. There are also new stages, music, moves and “tutorial” content to get your teeth into. A date has not been specified yet, but expect it some time in the Summer.

American Folks: Get Searching For One Of These If You Want One.
Some people in the industry are laughing off Sony’s claims of stock shortages in the US, but it actually appears to be a genuine issue for the company. According to GameStop Executive VP of Merchandising, the issue of PS3 stock shortages are likely to go on for the next few months. Despite Sony being pestered for more stock, Bartel concluded that his company “could sell a lot more hardware than what we have on the PS3 platform,” and that the situation is unlikely to change until the summer.
If you want a PS3 and you’re in the US, get hunting.

Jack Tretton Talks To Geoff Keighley Regarding Sony's E3 2010 During An Episode Of GTTV.
In an episode of GameTrailers TV last night, Sony’s Jack Tretton was on-board to talk about the looming E3 2010 Sony conference and what fans can expect.
Being pressed on Killzone 3 by host Geoff Keighley, Tretton responded:
“Well we own Guerrilla studios and they did a great job on Killzone 1 and 2, I don’t know whether you’ll see announcements about it [at E3 2010], but I can promise you we’ll see a Killzone 3.”
Worry not then Killzone fans – it’s coming. Tretton confirmed Sony plan to bring a “lot” to E3, so there’s plenty to be excited about.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Won The Best Game Gong At The BAFTAs, Despite Uncharted 2 Taking Home Four Awards.
There’s something a little iffy about Uncharted 2: Among Thieves’ denial of Best Game during last night’s video game BAFTAs. Despite beating everything to win four gongs at last night’s awards show, Batman: Arkham Asylum managed to walk away with the Best Game gong — despite being beaten by Uncharted 2 in numerous other characters. Don’t get us wrong, Batman’s a great game, but we can’t help but feel its British development roots allowed it to take the award it really probably shouldn’t have.
We’ve got the full list of winners after the jump, with honourable mentions going to flower and LittleBigPlanet PSP, who took the Artistic Achievement and Handheld awards respectively.
